Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (January 28, 2022) Gearing up for the 2022 season, Blake Hahn will defend his Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour title in the Hahn Racing No. 52.
Along with the full Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour, Hahn will also work in several 410cid events as well as select ASCS Regional and area Midget shows.
“Right now, the focus is the [ASCS] National Tour, but we’re also going to start working on our 410 program,” stated Hahn.
“With POWRi adding the 410 division, we’re going to run a few of those events, plus shows at Knoxville and a few Outlaw events when we can. The goal is to be competitive and build on that front. On the ASCS side, winning the championship, especially with everything our family went through last year, meant a lot but I felt like we left too much on the table last year, and have a lot of room for improvement, so that’s the goal for this year is to take out those inconsistencies that hurt us last year.”
Adding to the team for the 2022 season, Glenn Styres Racing (GSR) has come on board to help support the No. 52.
“The neat thing about Glenn is he is so ingrained in the sport that a lot of times, you don’t realize how many people he helps, but that's how he operates. We’ve known him for years, and we’re very thankful that he has extended a hand to help us build the team and add to our program.”
Making small changes during the off-season, the team's main focus has been organization. Redoing the trailer to better accommodate the team’s needs, Blake said a lot of what they’ve been able to do is thanks to Scott Bogucki.
As of now, shows outside the American Sprint Car Series will be added as they approach, and depend on where the team is at. In looking at what is available, the team projects an 80-90 race lineup in 2022.
The 2022 season is Blake Hahn's 20th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 100 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars.
