Inside Line Promotions - FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 24, 2013) - After a late, late start to his night on Saturday, Blake Hahn rallied for a successful visit to Texas Motor Speedway.
"Hot laps started about 10 o'clock," he said.
With the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour's heat races for the Port-a-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championship starting nearly an hour and a half after that, Hahn ended with a fourth-place finish.
That started him on the outside of the front row of a 12-lap B Main, which transferred the top three to the back of the feature.
"Harli (White) slid us the first corner and she led until probably halfway," he said. "We had a restart and going into (turn) one she slowed down a little bit and I got a run. I slid her in (turns) three and four and won it. The track was so rough I broke the left front mount on the nose wing."
After earning a transfer and fixing the nose wing, Hahn started the 30-lap main event 17th.
"Everybody was on the top because that was the only place there was moisture," he said. "I was really good in turns one and two compared to everybody else. It was basically whoever made a mistake got passed."
Hahn maneuvered to an 11th-place result.
He plans to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.
