SAPULPA, Okla. (May 13, 2015) With Midwest rains putting an end to Lucas Oil ASCS competition at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway this past weekend, Blake Hahn made the trip to Knoxville Raceway to get some laps at the famed half-mile.
“It was a last minute decision but when we checked the forecast and saw the rain chances were gone, we decided to make the trip to get some extra laps before we go back in August. Overall it wasn’t to bad of a run. We didn’t have the quickest time and ended up 20th, and that put us on the pole of the Heat. The car worked great around the bottom and we were able to win that to get in the feature,” said Hahn.
Starting 19th in the feature event, Hahn was able to move forward to a 14th place finish.
“At Knoxville, you go back to your time for the lineup, so that put us pretty far back but our goal was to just make laps so one lap I’d run the top, the next I’d run the bottom so we didn’t come out with the best finish but I felt comfortable with the car which is a win over the last time I raced Knoxville,” explained Hahn. “I feel like was have something to work with now. I am hoping we can get back to Knoxville a few more times before August and experiment with this JR1 a little bit more.”
Taking in ASCS Regional competition this coming weekend, the CSR Garage / Lucas Oil No. 52 will take on the Lubbock Speedway in Lubbock, Texas and Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla. with the ASCS Red River Region.
